The latest issue of Middlebury Magazine features a cover story with my photographs and text by Carolyn Kormann of the New Yorker.
"The High Road" is the story of Adam Stieglitz and Aaron Ebner, two Middlebury Institute at Monterey graduates who have thrown out the traditional approach of NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) in favor of a more community-driven model in the remote Andean communities of Peru.
Carolyn and I spent a week following Aaron and Adam as they traveled between Calca and Lares Valley visiting schools and farms that work with their organization, the Andes Alliance for Sustainable Development.
Thanks to Aaron Ebner, Adam Stieglitz, Julio Cesar Nina, Chris Miller, Gaelen Hayes, Carolyn Kormann, Pamela Fogg, and Matt Jennings for their hard work pulling this piece together.
Victoriano on the road between Calca and Lares, Peru. Watch for a new portfolio of work from Peru's Sacred Valley coming soon.
UPDATE January 5th, 2018: This cover is up for consideration at the American Society of Magazine Editors Best Cover of 2018 Contest. Please head over to their Facebook page and cast your vote. Middlebury Magazine has just published my cover story…
